Our Mission

Grimm and Leslie started this blog because they're not accountable enough for their diet and exercise regimen on their own to document their journey and develop a community of support where the fear of your judgment can keep them in line to reach their fitness goals.

If you're up for the trip, there's room for more.

Woahhhh! We're Halfway There!

(This is my workout and diet information for January 23rd. I just didn't get around to posting it until today.)

Workout
4 mile run outside on the trail. My very favorite workout.

I know "fast" will probably never be a word used to describe me and running, but I did improve my speed over last time. That's good enough for me.

*Workout Song of the day: Living On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. My favorite part of a run is the halfway point or just after it, when I've run more than I have left to go. Up until then, I could quit. I'm not sure I'm going to make it. But once I hit the halfway mark, I know I'll finish. It's impossible to quit. Mentally, I've already done it and the rest of the run is just a celebration.

Diet
Okay, get ready.

Yeah. Alcohol. Fitness and alcohol really don't mix. AT ALL. I read a pretty good article called Why Alcohol Calories Are More Important Than You Think on Christian Finn's website. And just as the article suggested, it wasn't the alcohol calories that did me in. It was the voracious appetite I developed after the band we went out to see finished up that led me to McDonald's where the mother of Julia's best friend from school who now probably believes Dave and I are the kind of parents who are out at 2 a.m. on Saturday nights which we aren't, except this ONE TIME, was working.

Those calories will show up in my next post.

Waking up with nearly a 1,000 calories already billed is NO FUN, people.

Thank goodness drinking isn't part of our regular routine.
